We inspected the Speak Easy building in Detroit Lakes!
This building was constructed in 1976 and was originally the Elk’s Lodge – a fraternal order.
Michael Mercil purchased the building in 2002 and started Speak Easy, a family restaurant. With 40 employees Speak Easy was offering Friday night karaoke, banquet facilities, catering, and coffee and ice cream shop inside the restaurant.
In March 2018 the building was purchased by Tyler Brandt and is now completely remodeled including a new patio. In the fall of 2018 Spitfire Bar and Grill, an American eatery offering BBQ and wood-grilled meats, opened their new location also offering wedding receptions and onsite catering.
